Introduction: Mpox remains endemic in the Democratique Republic of Congo, yet its physhosocial consequences on falily systems are poorly documented in African population literature. Understanding family dynamics is crucial, as stigma affects care-seeking and household resilience.
Methods: An interpretative phenomenological qualitative study was contected in kailo health zone ,Maniema province. Thirty-one participants (12 patients with confirmed mpox, 11 family members, and 8 healthcare providers) were purposively selected. Data were collected through semi- structured to french and Clarke. Ethical clearance was obtained from [à completer], and informed consend secured
Results: Tree dimension emerged: (1) transformation of domestic space and cohabitation practices (separate utensils, sleeping arrangements); (2) moral and spiritual interpretations of disease as a curse or divine punishment; (3) dehumanization of patients perceived as danger or strangers, leading to erosion of family support.
Conclusion: Mpox induces family disconnection beyond clinical illness. The response should integrate psychosocial support, family counseling, and involvement of community and religious leaders to promote reintegration after recovery.
